Private Mediation in Tulsa
Mitchell Garrett mediates civil disputes for lawyers and parties who would rather settle a case than try it. He has served since 2014 as an adjunct settlement judge for Oklahoma's Fourteenth Judicial District in Tulsa, and he has tried cases for plaintiffs and for defendants.
A Mediator Who Tries Cases
A settlement only holds if both sides believe the number. Mitchell has spent more than twenty years in Oklahoma courtrooms, on the plaintiff's side and the defense side, in state and federal court. As an adjunct settlement judge he has worked through court-ordered settlement conferences with lawyers, adjusters and parties who walked in far apart. He will tell each side, privately and plainly, how he thinks a jury is likely to see the case.
How It Works
Mediations are scheduled by agreement of counsel or by court order. Each side sends a short confidential statement before the session, and nothing a party shares in private caucus goes to the other side without permission. Sessions are held at our office in downtown Tulsa or by video. Mitchell does not mediate any matter in which Garrett Law represents a party.
